Magic Project Placeholders

Last updated on December 15, 2025

The Placeholders feature at the project level allows Admins to define reusable values—such as site names, contractor information, or project-specific labels—using custom keys. This helps maintain consistency across all documents within a project. You must be inside a created project within the Bid Packages workspace to use this feature.

Who Can Use This Feature
Users with Admin access to the project.

Steps:

  1. Open a Project
In the Bid Packages workspace, go to the Projects section and open any project by clicking the arrow ( > ) next to a document.
  2. View Placeholders
On the right side, the Placeholders panel will appear.
  3. Add a New Placeholder
    • Click Add New.
    • Enter a Key (e.g., CLIENT_NAME) and a Value (e.g., Everest Builders Inc).
    • Click Save.

Note: If the key already exists, you’ll see a message.

  1. Search Existing Pairs
Use the search bar to find any key or value instantly

Delete a Pair
Click the Delete icon and confirm to remove it, and deleted keys won’t work in documents.

⚠️ Note: Project Placeholders work only within the same project and won’t update in completed documents
