Magic Trade Placeholders
The Placeholders feature allows Admins to define reusable, trade-specific values, such as scope or materials, to maintain document consistency. You must be inside an existing project with the relevant trade set up in the Bid Packages workspace.
Access Trade Placeholders Settings
- Open a Project
In the Bid Packages workspace, go to the Projects section and open a project. - View Trade Placeholders
Scroll down to the Trade-specific Provisions section. In the Documents column of each trade row, click the Key icon (🔑) to open the panel that shows Placeholders. - Add a Trade Placeholders
- Click Add New.
- Enter a Key (e.g., TRADE_SCOPE) and a Value (e.g., Wiring, fixtures, testing).
- If the key already exists, a warning message will appear.
- Search Key-Values
Use the search bar at the top of the panel to quickly find any key or value.
- Delete a Key-Value
Click the Delete icon next to an entry and confirm to remove it. Deleted keys will no longer work in trade-specific documents.
⚠️ Note: Trade Placeholders apply only within the same project and won’t update completed documents or affect other projects.
